Florida’s Gang Control Strategy

_______________________________________________________

In addition, we are in the process of developing what the FGIA will propose as Florida’s Gang Control Strategy. This strategy will be a full proposal to Florida’s Executive Leadership both in Tallahassee and agencies throughout the state.

The completed strategy will by far be one of the most if not the most aggressive strategy to combat and control the gang threat within the State of Florida by any other state in the nation. We will be requesting members of both political parties to review; endorse and put legislation and a budget aside to implement the strategy statewide.

The Gang Control Strategy will cover recommendations endorsed by the FGIA relating to best practices that were researched and reviewed by the Board of Directors and random members of the association.

The areas covered within the strategy include but not limited to:

• Intelligence Gathering, Analyzing, Collating, and Dissemination
• Enforcement: Law Enforcement, Corrections and Juvenile Justice
• Suppression: Law Enforcement, Corrections and Juvenile Justice
• Legislatively
• Prosecutorial
• Prevention: Law Enforcement, Corrections and Juvenile Justice
• Intervention: Law Enforcement, Corrections and Juvenile Justice
• Rehabilitation
• Reentry

Portions considered potentially law enforcement sensitive will not be displayed on the public side of the website. All others will be posted upon completion.
