Programs Department

The Florida Gang Investigators Association’s Programs Department is dedicated to providing  international leadership in developing and recommending prevention and intervention strategies.  The Programs Department is also dedicated in working in conjunction with the Training Department to develop and administer professional training in gang prevention and intervention as well as developing unique initiatives to make the public aware of the gang threat and finally developing those programs that recognize those that have the most significant impact on Florida’s gang control by way of the Awards Program.

The Programs Department provides prevention and intervention models to the Florida Gang Investigators Association’s Board of Directors for recommendations to counties, cities, agencies and organizations throughout Florida in hopes to prevent and deter gang development and/or gang involvement.  The Programs Department provides the annual gang prevention and intervention summit for law enforcement, school administrators and teachers as well as local and state leaders.  In addition, the Programs Department also provides the following services: (1) special events planning for the annual conference; and (2) technical assistance to established and newly developed programs.
