Today, officially kicks off the 2008 Holiday Season. As many of us do this time of the year, I have begun to slow down enough to think about the people and the things that I am thankful for and every year I'm reminded of just how blessed I am to have a family that loves and cherishes me no matter how crazy my world gets or how often this profession takes me away from them. I am blessed to have a healthy and beautiful daughter who I call "Punkin" that simplifies things no matter what I do whether right or wrong and just simply loves her Daddy. I am blessed to be healthy and to live in a country as great as ours and to have wonderful friendships like yours.
In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives and the craziness that surrounds our profession it is easy to forget to stop and cherish and not take for granted the things that are important to us and be thankful for the things we have like friends and family that make our lives more rich than money or material things could come close to providing. I hope that we all take the time this holiday season to look to those that love and cherish us unconditionally and tell them just how much we appreciate and love them.
Remember our fellow law enforcement, corrections, juvenile justice and probation brothers and sisters who are putting their lives on the line this very second. Remember those teachers that have taken the most sacred of oaths and that is to take care of our children....our future! Remember our Military men and women and their families who have given the ultimate sacrifice and those who will not be at home with their loved ones this year in order to provide you and I a safer world that allows us this time to reflect on what and who is important to us.
Additionally, life is short and life is precious so lets just be thankful for each other and remember each and every man, woman and/or child that may be suffering for what ever reason whether it be physically, emotionally, financially or spiritually. When you take away all the petty differences then you are left with the most pure of purities and that is we are all of one county, one state, one nation, one planet. We are One People.
On behalf of my family to you and yours, thank you for what you do every day and I would like to wish each and every one of you a Safe and Happy Holiday Season.
Stay Safe and Take Care of Each Other ,
