The Florida Gang Investigator’s Association was formed in 1993, by criminal justice professionals, to promote and facilitate the exchange of gang intelligence and information among those professionals actively involved in the investigation and prosecution of criminal street gangs, prison gangs, extremist groups, supremacist groups and their membership. The main goal of the Association is to effectively and positively impact and ultimately eliminate the effects of gang violence and gang related crimes perpetrated by gang members whose actions adversely affect and constitute a threat to the public.

Open Letter from the President

Dear FGIA Members,

Many of you have inquired to your Board of Directors regarding information concerning the Rusty Keeble Foundation and the recent emails from that foundation.  The Florida Gang Investigators Board of Directors feels that it is now necessary to advise you of our position on this matter. 

The Florida Gang Investigators Association does not support nor endorse the Rusty Keeble Foundation or any other ventures of Mr. Keeble (such as G-Pro and the upcoming symposium in Daytona Beach).  Your Board of Directors is working hard to move this organization back to the forefront of gang enforcement and suppression and prefers to focus all of our efforts on that endeavor.

Many of you have complained about the continued emails you have been receiving from Mr. Keeble.   Your Board of Directors feels that it is obligated to inform you that when Mr. Keeble left our organization he took (without permission from the Board of Directors) a copy of our membership database.  This is unfortunate; yet, due in part to this action; Mr. Keeble's membership rights in our organization have been revoked. 

Therefore, our recommendation to you is if you do not want to receive these messages from Mr. Keeble you need to notify Mr. Keeble as soon as possible.  However, if you still want to receive that information that is your right. 

Please be encouraged that the recent changes made to our organizations By-Laws to which you approved at the August, 2009, conference will greatly reduce the chance of this type of violation from happening again.
